It's like friends with benefits and we promise not to develop feelings. Not theoretically impossible, but I've yet to see it work. Same with polyamory. People online tell me it worms but all the real life examples I've known had someone get hurt really bad.

N*N interoperability problem, but with people instead of code dependencies.

The more libraries you have to link, the longer it takes to compile.

More a sysadmin than dev problem really. If you have a program that requires derpfile v1.1 and another that requires derpfile v1.2 and and and then you end up needing brainpower to keep things working. Or docker...

Same is the best argument for, too. Messes can prop each other up with more mess and with different perspectives help clean stuff up.

Sacrifices to be made on both sides of the fence, true. Boils down to personal preference in the end, doesn't it, do you perform better dealing with one mess at a time or when alternating btw messes?
