this I disagree with. there are some things that are hard(er) for a sociopath to manipulate, such as anything that allows confirmation, or anything that's written down. They can still do it in many cases, but it's much harder work, with more risk of exposure.
-
okay, fair

but the thing is you, and others, did pretty much do the "you're against burning witches? You must be a witch!" thing that I'm very tired of getting from ppl on the left (I get it from ppl on the left mostly 'cos I know very few real right wingers. Maybe none)
-
actually if you look at my participation in the thread specifically you'll notice that i actively avoided doing that and made an effort to validate concerns with the state of affairs where valid

I would say subject at hand is more like a system of claims about alleged psychological processes and hidden/unconscious intents, rather than observation proper. Kind of like alleged "false consciousness" or alleged Freudian Id, Ego and Superego.
-
I would agree with that too. It's not that people don't make small, deniable, slurs and aggressions, they do. The problem is that there's no means to reliably agree when something was/wasn't, and you're open to people using the accusation of aggression as a means of aggression.
-
so because the schematization is exploitable for evil we have to suppress the idea that the observed phenomenon exists which is a behavior pattern comprising a huge amount of what is wrong with The Modern Left
-
again, I didn't say that. What I'm saying is that you can't build a political platform on it. I might have very good reason for believing that everything that's happening is due to Chinese interference in western society, but I wouldn't say that in politics.
-
So basically the things I (under suggestion of shrink ex) managed to sort of drill into my UFO ex before we parted ways? "Telling people about aliens will just hurt you and may attract alien influence agents"?
-
microaggression discourse built into a load-bearing element of a political platform can't really be anything but a tool of cold race war which SOME people i guess think isn't a beneficial way forward
-
the various cold wars in our society aren't going to stay cold much longer. I suppose one could make the argument it's a solution to the population crisis.
-
enh, idk, we've gotten so good at proxy war and so used to its comparative economic benefits
