A lot of social advice amounts to “round problems down”. Live and let live, turn the other cheek, don’t take things personally, etc. If you avoid escalation, you avoid destructive feedback loops. The concept of microaggressions as endorsed by the modern left does the opposite.

"Microagression reasoning" pattern-matches to pareidolias of controlling shitty partners (mostly but not exclusively male).

'your assertion that certain speech acts may create an unwelcoming atmosphere is actually flawed pattern matching about what's going on in other people's heads, that's going on in your head' well... no u

i don't think microaggressions are bad because omg they might give somebody fee fees, i think they're bad because thinking people have a Place is the kind of thing that makes me want to drop people in a vat of acid and Reminding Them Of It makes me want to set the acid on fire

Have you considered that it is a weird pattern of overreaction to basic bitch interaction that is neither intended to be hostile nor is necessarily associated with insidious hostility or mythical "subconscious" bias against you?
-
sure; didn't find the hypothesis highly plausible
-
I guess we differ in this regard. But then again, I kind of have a moratorium on "subconscious X" explanations / inferences regarding other humans or myself.
