my mind recoils from thinking about these kids just doing what's put in front of them to do and emerging with a credential that all the value has been sucked out of and six figures in debt can't entirely blame them for going "yay socialism, let's do that"

If you haven't read the book, she says it to Lestat when he tries to talk her out of taking over the world. She's mad because so many people are still hungry and poor. He pleads that industrial democracy will eventually make the world rich enough to take care of everyone.

Lestat the neo-liberal
-
He totally is, really.

well that makes me feel betterhttps://twitter.com/danlistensto/status/970097845599694853 …

so i guess if Lestat is the neoliberal and Akasha is the fire and blood revcom then Louis must be the emo anime progressive and Claudia the helicopter libertarian
-
That's... uncanny.
-
Except you forgot "radfem" for Akasha because I think that needs to be in there. Radfem revcom pretty much sums her up, politically.
-
Again, if you haven't read the book, Akasha blames pretty much everything on men being in charge and plans to inverse-decimate the male population, killing 9 in 10 males and keeping the rest contained for breeding stock.

It blows my mind that anyone presents communism/Marxism as something besides reactionary. It was and is literally a reaction against the excesses of capitalism. The only thing worse than reactionary politics is utopian idealism. Communism is also that.
