There’s not really THAT much.
The first one is the classics character, the second is the Japanese simplification that saves a stroke, and the last one is the modern simplified one.
The bottom part means “heart” and the top part is a phonetic marker but it means “Asia”.

This is why it’s dangerous to try to infer too much from the ostensibly semantic components of an ideograph.
I can imagine a future emoji based language where
is included for phonetic reasons unrelated to its idiomatic usage.
But in Japanese 亜 doesn’t mean “Asia” it means like “sub-“
