Using giant batteries for municable energy storage is probably a dumb idea. At industrial scales you can probably store energy more efficiently by just like, heating something up and letting it cool, or rolling things up hills and letting them roll back down.

Batteries loose efficiency and need all sorts of dirty chemicals, but stuff like gravity or thermal energy storage should have less losses at higher scales.
