alright then, I will. here is the stupid disclaimer that I say only to preserve some semblance of normality: I'm a skeptical person, "voodoo" is not my native culture, and life is full of contradictions especially the mental life of strange people like me.

On 3 occasions beginning in 2015 and continuing into 2016 I had an encounter with a figure that said these words to me. "A war. They are fighting a war."

On each of the occasions it was a different individual person but the person broadly matched the same archetype. The archetype could best be summarized as "avatar of Ogun, in 21st century clothing"

a middle aged black man, with close cropped hair or shaved head. work boots. tall but in a stocky/muscular way, upper body strength like the kind you get from working with your arms all day. carrying a conspicuous object related to technology. bag of tools, in one example.

on each of the 3 occasions I was traveling to somewhere. twice on foot, once on the subway. the man said the words to me in passing and went in the opposite direction of me. disappeared too quickly to follow.

each time the man spoke with a clearly west african accent. not carribbean, not american black, clearly african accented english. the exact same phrase each time and directly to me. not words overheard as he spoke to someone else. no. eye contact, 1 on 1, said to me and only me

he had a different face each time. it occurred in a different location each time. different time of day each time. SAME MOON PHASE though. full moon.

anyway I wish I could say the story had a more clear resolution. the white voodoo priest had comparatively little insight about it. identified that it seemed to be Ogun, and he had also evaluated me as having "my head" in Ogun, which is significant in his system I guess.

now, I am quite familiar with what my own cultural priming tends to produce in visionary experiences and let me tell you it ain't Ogun. also these were not visionary experiences. just mundane travel around the city. so, I'm left with a whole lot of shrug.

sounds to me like the acceleration curve is even weirder if you're made of what's accelerating
