If the people talking about it were the people experiencing it, then it *would* be proportional. 
i mean i love the idea that it's unethical to physically intervene in self-harm as the radical anarchist shit that it is, but it's definitely not a mainstream idea

It's not really anarchist. I'm also in favour of right-to-die laws & decriminalization of suicide.

I've seen video of people severely & permanently injured due to violent police intervention in suicide attempts, as an extreme example.
