Ultra is right - analyzing the hurt feelings of video game children as if it were a mass popular movement is farcical. It's only an convenient, understandable narrative.

it wields no economic power, which, even if it became a mass cultural movement (which it never did and could not by its insular nature), it would need to be of any consequence. Video Game Children don't own productive capacity.

they don't own it, but they're certainly working to exert control over how it's used seems like for what you're saying to be meaningful either they'd have to be failing at exerting that control, or the industry would have to be economically insignificant. is it one of those?
