Q: How many Vallista does it take to sharpen a sword?
A: That would be a waste. Here, I've been working on a sword that should sharpen itself. @StevenBrust @jenphalian

Q: how many Yendi does it take to sharpen a sword? A: three: one to sharpen the sword and one to confuse the issue
-
Q: how many Teckla does it take to sharpen a sword? A: Teckla? A sword? Surely, you jest. You mean a pair of wool shears? Three. One to sharpen them, two to petition the lord for permission.

I would have replied with an equally eloquent yet brief witty reply to that tweet but as we all know brevity is the soul of wit, and as all men know, at least the one's who are alive, and by alive I mean those men which do not fall into the group of them who are living in the 1/2
-
Lands of the dead or walking in the paths of dead or working in purple robes or indeed even the gods, the definition also doesn't include the creatures named Jenoins, for whom the less said the better and I always prefer saying less, that I'm the embodiment of the said soul 2/3
-
So you have to be content with the heart that I'm going to click on your comments to show my appreciation and having decided thus I will proceed to do the same.

Having said that and kidding aside, something I've always wondered and th probably the guy who keeps on listening to the weird metallic ears can answer that - is Parfi contemporary of Vlad, and if so can we see a Parfi novel of Vlad's heroics?
-
i could've sworn that we had an Easter egg confirming that Paarfi is around in Vlad's time (obviously Khaavren still is)
-
I thought I read that the Khaavren Romances were written in Vlad’s time by
@PaarfiTweets. The overly eloquent language is Paarfi taking poetic license with how they spoke. But I may have dreamt all that... Please note my carefully worded description so as not to insult our author -
Well, yes, certainly I modified the language for fictional purposes; you perceive, the actual dialog would have required a book that was longer than the publisher, in his wisdom, was willing to permit.

Paarfi: Pretend, sir, that there was a sword; and this sword, being of admirable length and far more admirable quality, despite such quality required with an utmost and keen eye to its upkeep the sort of attention that would be defined as, to some, 'sharpening'... 1/2
-
Wherein said sharpening, which is the act of causing the blade to become a more deft instrument, if this attention in ablutions were perhaps performed by a nobleman of the heritage of the Lyorn, how many of him sir would there be needed to perform the actions?

Q: How many Jhereg does it take to sharpen a sword? Q: Five. One to sharpen it at a ten-degree bevel with a dry stone, another to bribe officials to avoid the new sharpening tax, and the last three in a chain to hire someone to shine rival vendors of swords and sharpening stones.

Q: How many Dragons does it take to sharpen a sword? A: None of them. A Dragon's sword is continually sharpened on fools who ask such questions.
