what kind of fucking mind sees those quotations and thinks "the presence of these means that FreeBSD is promoting Adolf Hitler's ideas!"
I mean, 'our fun quotations tool should not output quotations from genocidal war criminals" is.. not an unreasonable assumption
"fun" isn't really an exclusive focus of the fortune db at all, though; quite the opposite, its pretensions to thought provocation are embarrassingly clear
I had interpreted it as more of a 'fortune cookie' thing than a 'fortuneteller' thing.
oh yeah it absolutely is, and it has a lot of random cheese and jokes, but also a lot of stuff that's Deep and whatnot
I did not know this, I had assumed it was 100% fluff with (somehow) a hitler quote thrown in
oh yeah for sure no, check it out: https://svnweb.freebsd.org/base/head/usr.bin/fortune/datfiles/fortunes?annotate=325781&pathrev=325781 …
http://discordianquotes.com has almost the same ethos, just minus the pompous dicksucking ritual of attribution
site is a crime against readability. must be Khornate.
guess i'd better get around to to making the quotation blocks animate and wander across the screen
