more urban warfare might take care of that, BattleTech fluff's assertion that anthropomorphic tanks handle extremely irregular terrain better than tracked or wheeled vehicles seems like it'd hold water once we fully master the whole walking thing

So yeah, there will be multiple armored command gunships, and even more armored decoy gunships relaying orders.
-
Destroying any one of them will have little to no effect on the swarm's ability to retaliate.
-
As long as one human pilot is alive within the combat volume, the swarms will listen to that human's orders.
-
And even if the die, the swarm will continue to follow the human pilot's last standing orders until another commander arrives.
-
Killing the humans will make ideal combat robots slightly less aggressive. But still very dangerous to anybody in their kill volume.
-
All they lose is the ability to expand that kill volume or move outside of it.
-
problem is u can't advertise your kill volume so u risk killing unwitting civilian traffic, so drones would mb defer kill decision to humans
-
Why not advertise a kill volume? Radio waves travel faster than missiles, and most of warfare is posturing.
