Not sure why this is expected. Sure if I'm talking to their grieving family I am not going to rip into them but otherwise honesty is best.

you'll find that people who "believe in heaven and hell" tend to strongly adhere to this because they have weird doublethink capabilities that let them believe themselves to be talking about actual places while somehow knowing what the terms actually refer to, cultural survival
