it's kind of ambiguous since it's modifying the clause, and could be "Tonight, my friends and I talk about".

you could even say "watch as my friends and I". So it works either way. Also "data" is a mass noun, not a plural.

use "three fewer data" in a sentence. Alternately, realize the number of strings like "x GB of data", analogous to "of water"
