all RPGs should be balanced the way Morrowind was, which is to say, not very balanced at all

like i kind of get how unbalanced gameplay (in an rpg) can be an indicator of bad worldbuilding but going full 4th ed. is cart before horse

only valid purpose of 'balance' is to avoid accidentally obliterating player agency in choice of playstyle by having superoptimal styles
