It's amazing how many people do not understand the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit X86. 64-bit is not magic fastness sauce, people.

it's not that there's downsides, it's that software doesn't magically get faster, and people think it does.

Have to be doing something that spills registers or manually take advantage of SIMD for it to matter much.
