I think some skepticism about individuals speaking on behalf of groups is reasonable. But it doesn’t wholly discount the ask.

For example, even if you 100% discount their ability to speak for others, at the very least they’re still asking for themselves.

And that ask alone is enough for me to honor the request. In other words, my “threshold of reasonable empathy” is 1.
