I don't think I will ever hate anything about the Mac as much as I hate the "exit this application" key being next to "close this tab".
@XaiaX ⌘W being next to ⌘Q is some fucking bullshit, idk what sense Alt-F4 is ever supposed to have made but at least it's out of the way

@XaiaX shit's as bad as making F5 quicksave and F6 quickload -
@chaosprime at least on a lot of keyboards those were at the right/left edge of blocks of keys, but should be 6/9 -
@XaiaX 5/9 is the usual but we went to that after some of the early innovators of the quicksave concept foolishly used 5/6 -
@chaosprime quickload should have a confirm, quicksave should stack a few. There will always be a better idiot.

@chaosprime It's the same in windows, though. just CTRL+W / CTRL+Q, not sure which came first. -
@XaiaX nuh uh, ctrl-Q doesn't do jack in windows, at least not standard; standard close application is alt-F4 -
@XaiaX i hit ⌘Q while trying to hit ⌘W often enough on a Mac that i'd have noticed if i had the same problem on windows

@chaosprime I used to actually know why. I want to say it maps to some IRQ or something. -
@chaosprime apparently it's an equivalent to "F16" which was "close application".
