We really don't have to pretend Lovecraft wasn't a horrible person. I don't think a non-horrible person could've accomplished what he did.
@womzilla Superb advice if you can take it, but not everybody can, and I vaguely think it takes the people who can't, too.

@chaosprime I think of the Flaubert as a counter to idea that you *must* act crazy to be a creative person, but I take your point. -
@womzilla Basically I think it took someone full of the worst anxieties of modernism to really authentically confront it with postmodernism. -
