So it occurs to me that my BakedGraphic situation is a place where prototype based object inheritance would have been really handy.

@chaosprime Yeah. I've honestly used it as more a thing to... allow storing heterogenous Things in the same container. -
@chaosprime (e.g. since Rooms can have Tile, Entity and Image layers in any layout, they all inherit from a common Layer class.) -
@TheMorningSongs legit. i think i might even be dealing with similar specific objectives to yours. -
@TheMorningSongs like, basically every physical object in my game can function as a weapon if you really want, if just an awkward club -
@TheMorningSongs so the whole set of weapon support functionality is a decorator that's demand-loaded if somebody asks to do weapon stuff -
@chaosprime That sounds a little like the Component-based approach I've taken to handling Entities with! -
@TheMorningSongs yupyup, probably just about identical... you might be able to push that approach further & get more out of it -
@chaosprime Hm. Yeah, that is a good point. I think if I need to add anything more to BakedGraphic, I'll do a thing like that. - 1 more reply
