I really really hate the question: can men & women really be "just friends" - its a hetrosexist objectification of everyone involved.
@DarDarla the word "relationship" needs to be taken back from intimate/dating/smooching/fucking/etc. relationships, tbqf.

@chaosprime we need more/better language around relationships & connections in general, that convey the value in them -
@chaosprime words for people who prompt growth, change us, who we bonded with for a certain period of time without the disdain that ex has. -
@DarDarla oh, *that* would be interesting, a way to signify a greater past intimacy than present that isn't coded with bitterness & enmity. -
@chaosprime I struggle with this a lot, I refuse to refer to my late bf as an ex, but don't always want to invoke the pity around death. -

@chaosprime there are a few people I dated while they were in between relationships, one I went to their wedding. So much joy.
