If you're writing a zombie book set in the present or near-future, and you call your creatures something silly other than “zombies,” don’t.
@Tsalmoth I'd say if you have vampires older than the English language, figuring out what they call themselves is compulsory worldbuilding.

@Tsalmoth But I'm not convinced that They're Just Zombies and They're Just Vampires are an improvement. -
