Why are American internet liberals so obsessed with people wearing fedoras? Are they afraid of gangsters?
@JonasKyratzes …1:1 with the politics one has a problem with. i very much doubt anyone speaking of fedora-wearers has this problem.

@chaosprime It's pretty daft when you're not part of this tiny cultural niche obsessed with hats as symbols for evil. -
@JonasKyratzes yes, in-groups communicating using the symbols they've established shared meaning for are awfully nutty, it's true -
@chaosprime It is when you attempt to apply them to the outside world as if they were global and ubiquitous. -
@JonasKyratzes not understanding when you're using specialized symbols in communicating with an unspecialized audience is a failing, yes -
@JonasKyratzes i wonder when we'll see the next piece telling "identitarians" what they're doing wrong -
@chaosprime Wonder when we'll see the next tweet that assumes a small bunch of self-righteous Americans must always be taken seriously? -
@JonasKyratzes don't think we have time units that small, but i'm hoping my first tweet implying anything should be taken srsly is long off
