the concept of "lying by omission" is fascinating imo--it has practical value, but taken in an absolute sense it implies that *nobody can ever tell the truth* because they must necessarily leave things out...more importantly, *you can never know how much you leave out!*

my thoughts on the subject are somewhat confused, so I won't try getting into it very far, but: - apophatic theology gud - "the truth" can also be seen as "what is" which is another way people think about God

oh also has implication for eternal life understood as being "with God" and how that is hell for some and heaven for others--when you die, you will no longer be able to ignore the truth; torment as far as you fled truth in life, satisfaction as far as you sought truth in life

Yeah I was going to correct myself when I remembered Islam has angels & demons. Atheists (aka deists aka pantheists) are the real monotheists.
