trusting someone to tell you the truth is kindergarten shit if you don't trust someone to lie to you, you don't trust them most people are, obviously, not trustworthy be trustworthy

I do my due diligence, I read at least the first 10 or 20 comments. I don't get it. Trust is not normally used in this way. Supposing it is, it would entail trustworthiness is not real; all trust is a function of the person doing the trusting. Why "be trustworthy" then?

dunno where "trustworthiness is not real" would fall out of that "be trustworthy" in this construction means "be someone who, granted that kind of power, will use it to give the grantor outcomes they would prefer to the outcomes they would have gotten had they not granted it"
