people are forever deciding that what makes sense to them is what's natural and the complications seeping around the edges of it are unnatural, a betrayal, perversity, why we can't have nice things i'd get mad at how dumb it is except it's obviously natural that they'd do that

I read the first half of his most famous book, and learned enough to be impressed with the Churchland paper I mentioned, but basically got impatient with Feyerabend's self-indulgence. Later, I met a woman who had been a student of his at Berkeley.

She didn't talk shit about him, she praised him. And you know, Feyerabend had a difficult life. It's unpleasant to be born into circumstances in which you get drafted into a Nazi army and have to fight in and get wounded in WW2 on the wrong side.
