there's a lot of machinery that often gets uncritically deployed for the sake of removal of anomalous data or irreproducible experiences. if it's one person, it's baader-meinhof, if there are multiple people, it's mass hysteria, etc.

We live outside of a controlled experimental system, so, we can't dismiss patterns due to irreproducibility. When weird patterns happen, we have to deal with the consequences of that personally. That's how I see it anyway

yeah, concur. i feel like i'm responsible for understanding what's going on to the best of my abilities, not for thinking or speaking only in terms of what's verifiable
