it's hard. I can think of a very vivid example, but if I state it clearly, it will definitely go beyond subtweeting, and just be straight beefing, and the guy who did it seems in all other respects like a good insightful guy

Here's a thread w/ a lil rant (that I dumped on a friend who didn't deserve it)https://twitter.com/Timber_22/status/1251934944378535936?s=20 …

Crooked Timbre @Timber_22Replying to @Timber_22 @jondubinThe rationalist disease, and I blame a guy whose name rhymes w/ "Thot Daleks Gander" for it, is that we all need to spend weeks of our lives researching the exact right take on something, and need to reinforce our tendencies towards neuroticism and autism in order to do that1 reply 0 retweets 4 likes -

I disagree but it's complicated. At the same time my partner and I are in some ways very much epitome of "just do it" combined with "research obsessively" so he may not play against our worst tendencies like for some people

it's a case where recognizing that this failure mode exists is sufficient to avoid the worse cases of it respect the power of "i dunno, sounds fake"
