people are continually amazed at how BMI continues to be a thing despite its obvious massive failings. well, let me clear that up. it isn't a thing despite its failings, it's a thing because of them

someone smarter than me could infer this just from how people in the "overweight" range have better health outcomes than people in the "healthy" range, which obviously means that the "overweight" range is the actual healthy range and the "healthy" range is the underweight range

for me, it took that plus going in for umbilical hernia repair surgery; specifically, the intake interview, where the experienced surgeon had essentially no concerns other than making sure that an unasked-for BMI diagnosis was on my chart anyway enjoy your medical care

And if (like many do) you forget every 3 or 4 weeks to take a daily prescription, don't confess. It's not going in the chart as "takes meds on >95% of days." It'll be "noncompliant with meds".

You're supposed to also forget that you forgot. Most who remember not taking them once or twice usually forgot more than once a week.
