most of my life, the software project i was most invested in was a multiplayer game debugged live in production (initially because we didn't know any better, eventually because we'd adapted to it and also we didn't have resources to run more than one copy)

I worked on a MUD as a teenager, which was directly responsible for my current role as a very well-compensated impostor syndrome sufferer which I guess is what happens when you tell a kid she can build an entire universe and then she accidentally succeeds
