Eh, silly to get so invested in such a single dimensional hypothetical. My original point stands: social approval is a primary motivator in the overturning of established oppression, particularly against minorities. Hatred of the other fulfils humans in the way you describe.

I don't think you ever get over the urge to hate. The internal apparatus that steps in and stops it early on is something I had to learn, and maintain with significant effort, which is why I'm suspicious of the idea that people wouldn't hate without it.

i certainly wouldn't propose that people will just act nice without coercion, especially right when coercion is removed just sayin maybe coercion isn't all that, and there are a lot of ways we're taught to ignore our experience that are nothing much to do with suppressing racism
