when you write a line of code that happens to go to exactly the width of your window (or the width you would line break at, if for some reason those are different), do you interpret this as approval of your line of code on the part of the divine/the universe/fate/the simulators?

The Symbolics 3600 machine from 1983 had a screen resolution of 1100x900, with an option for up to 1280 x 1024. I think we can stop arguing about the width of our paper roll terminals now :)

PS my pylintrc file has a max-line-length=112 because somebody who hasn't been at the company in 5 years came up with the number at some point and and we all use the "official" pylintrc file as team policy. I respect no such rules in any other language or project I write :)
