The brain doesn't have any software. At least, science hasn't found any. All changes have to be implemented as re-wiring, making the category kind of meaningless in any case.

Wut? Patterns of neurons firing is software, e.g. what happened while you were writing this tweet. Brain is field-programmable ("rewiring"), but that doesn't mean no software is running on its current state.
