Not sure I'm following. If your assertion is that we do not recognize patterns that objectively exist, but rather impose them with our thinking, I would respond with an emphatic "sometimes." If that isn't your point, then I will instead ask about vigorous fucking.

it's not quite that so much as that there are a *lot* of different patterns that can be recognized in any real phenomena, more and less obvious, more and less useful, and being able to classify yes/no on a given pattern is much less important than constructing the pattern
