I struggle with this slightly. I find myself in agreement, I think; one needs pathos as much as logos (If only in respect to empathy) but I feel like 'emotional competence' is the wrong term. I move that 'emotional intelligence' fits better.

Because I can't think of many times when I was emotionally incompetent (despite my 'blindness' in respect to social cues), but I can think of a large period of time when I was emotionally base. Does that make sense, am I hitting the wrong points, or am I misinterpreing

Haha, I say something similar to this. People who say we need more standard intelligence mixed with emotional intelligence are usually mistakenly under the impression that they possess either to sufficient levels to properly diagnose or remedy that situation
