other dude's concept of culture, of course, is nice things that can be shared with outsiders in a peaceful neoliberal milieu to give them a broader appreciation of the rich tapestry of humanity i.e. it's only culture if he can appropriate it

We also have a pretty good vocabulary of names and gestures relating to psychic powers. If someone in a film puts their fingers to their temple or wrinkles their brow menacingly while something happens nearby, no explanation is needed to fill in the connection.
