And it seems very, very doubtful you have achieved dhyana, let alone samadhi. If you had, you would know what it is like to have the ego broken to bits.

I realize it's probably anathema for a chaote, but you should seriously consider learning about meditation and maybe even practicing. You could then learn about the ephemeral nature of the self. There's a considerable body of practical and theoretical literature available.

And, though it's an even greater stretch, you might consider studying and maybe working within the Western trad. What you call "ego death" actually seems more like what we know as "crossing the abyss". It's a pretty amazing experience.
