Ah yes. The high-minded intellectual ideals of... Crossed, Faust, Pandora, the hardcore pornographic Jungle Fantasy Hellina, Lookers, Jungle Fantasy: Ivory, The Ravening, and... Medieval Lady Death.

imho, CROSSED had a higher standard for more issues than anything from Marvel or DC for the last 20 years. And Avatar spun off the uninteresting porn titles into their own publisher, Boundless, years ago.

The ones written by Ennis, Moore & Spurrier = yes The rest tho? = aiming for the teenage boy demographic of boobs, chainsaws & "dude that's so fucked up" (and not much else besides...)

Oh, and I had forgotten how amazing the David Hine "Gore Angels" CROSSED story was. On the other hand, "The Lesser of Two Evils" by Mike Wolper is pretty much exactly what people who hate CROSSED think the whole series is--boobs and chainsaws.

was that the last storyline, with the two extras from '80s hair metal videos?https://twitter.com/chaosprime/status/1160613007455637509 …

Chaos @chaosprimeReplying to @gocomplexoh, you already claimed it so i left it alone. it's kinda Avatar in a nutshell really, Moore and Spurrier on +100 is absolutely solid, mainline mostly decent if you don't mind seasoning with torture porn, descending into copycat-copying-the-wrong-things crap at the end1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

I think so. "Lesser of Two Evils" was the one with the people stuck on the ruined overpass. It was about 3 arcs from the end.

I'm relying heavily on Wikipedia, but after the Wolper there were 2 Max Bemis-written ones, including the one about the comic shop and the Anti-Crossed comic, and then the second of Gage's two runs.

My memory is that the comic shop one was very good, though obviously very meta (which I have an inordinate fondness for).
