We would stick with our laws. But we are powerless to our corrupt government and rigged vote system. Our streets aren't safe ("amazing" knife laws don't actually work - no mace, tazers etc either I believe the term is "victim disarmament") Suicides make trains late a lot.

Australian here, and I feel the same way, especially regarding your second sentence. There's less total amounts of death here than there would be otherwise, but "less than" is not the same thing as "none". Hanlon's Razor applies, too - incompetence kills just as surely as malice.

I'm not from the UK so this is just a comment but when I visited Toronto I was taken aside at least once at a private party for the purpose of being told how much better Canada's gun control laws are. Also, how Canada Dry is the best ginger ale, which is correct.
