it sucks having to fight people who want good things just because the things they're going to do to try to get good things aren't going to work and are going to cause bad things instead

If you think in long term outcomes, this works really well, because when they need the thing and have failed to get it (or wasted resources doing it badly), you're ready to give it to them for free, and can explain how you did it, now that they are ready for it.

We each have our own brain structure which operates in one of the four ways (fight, flight, freeze, or flow) in two different levels of problem solving (interpersonal/simple and intergroup/complex). My brain freezes with interpersonal problems, and flows with intergroup ones.
