what is your best method for working through difficult emotions? do you have different techniques for difficult negative emotions vs. difficult positive emotions?

This is kinda what I do but sometimes finding a vehicle to allow those feelings to work themselves through is non-obvious and difficult itself

The practice comes in treating both negative & positive the exact same way. Otherwise, the mind notices the unfairness in standards and cannot take any attempt at mindfulness seriously. The goal is to feel emotions fully, but not invest in them as ends, and that's inherently OK.

to overcome recurrent emotional bugs you have to find the original overflow and yeah feel it until its out like a zit to allow closure, easier said than done especially when its pre memory or inherited
