some would say the downside of this is that without pressure to publish, people will just fuck around and do nothing. i say, if we're gonna have a massive dole for unemployable upper middle class neurotics, isn't it better to pay them to keep quiet than to pay them to make noise

for the most part if it's my own field I can be pretty efficient with paper triaging, normally a brief glance at the abstract is enough to know if it's worth my time
