(As an aside, I always find it amusing in the extreme that the % of authoritarian followers, as hypothesized by Altemeyer, is not far off of John Rogers' "27% crazification factor" http://kfmonkey.blogspot.com/2005/10/lunch-discussions-145-crazification.html …)

Unfortunately, at least in our current culture the percentage of authoritarian-follower types, and their even worse cousins the authoritarian-leader types, is a constant. So you gotta figure out how to a) harness them or b) neutralize them, you can't just get rid of them.

I guess what i'm long-windedly trying to say here is that this is not a problem that is unique to "wokeness" or "SJWs" or "the idpol left" or whatever. There aren't actually any more of those assholes *here* than anywhere *else*. It's just the manifestations that differ.

And they're absolutely WAY more fucking annoying when they're supposed to be the good guys, but we have to deal with that sociologically because there's no way to just make them go away.

I tell you, friend, the older i get, the less sure i am of ANYTHING except that we have to work on kindness and solidarity.

I'm so fucking tired of purity tests, and i feel like the principles all follow from a fundamental willingness to be kind. So i look for that, in people, rather than any particular party line.
