you should mourn for the person you once thought you were going to be, absolutely. but the whole toxic mourning thing where you decide that if you move on that means you never really loved them? manages to eke out being a tiny bit worse when it's about an idealized self-image

oh, all of my life advice should be read with an implied modifier, "assuming you, like most people, aren't up to being as awesome as Jennifer" standardizing it saves character count
