A novel approach, and very straightforward, but I’m not convinced it wouldn’t be more efficient to kill the least intelligent, for two reasons: 1. Removing any extremes is going to lower the stdev 2. No way to tell how many the smartest have already killed to get where they are

Yeah that probably doesn’t work, even though the obvious reason for it not to work (that it would make a slightly smarter person the “average person”) isn’t quite true either. I don’t think I’m visualizing the standardization process right

It's by FAR more damaging to not realize how IQ is 1 out of many factors that play a part in determining success (and how small that part is) than it is to not realize it's a z-score.
