the idea that humans are special because don't ~live in harmony with nature~ has to be the dumbest fucking piece of liberal guilt mythology in the pantheon. have you ever heard of pinewood nematodes? bagworms? zebra mussels? nutria? fucking LOCUSTS?
shockingly, i didn't actually forget any of that, but is there something about it that brings us being back to humans being a special kind of evil or is it just a quibble?

I mean if you want my take its not so much that humans* are evil but that our collective ability to alter our environment far outstrips our control over these processes, this disturbs nature's equilibria so much they can't compensate, and this harms humans and the environment
