so let me get this straight: the Democratic Party apparatus wants to shuffle climate change off to the side, the only substantive policy being proposed on it is being proposed by anti-establishment insurgents, and meanwhile we get pathetically performative straw and bag bans

i'm not even a climate change skeptic, just a pessimist, but if you were *trying* to paint a picture of a crisis that had been invented solely to stoke fear in the base, but now the base has really bought into it and need to be patted on the head and ignored, could you do better

it would certainly make the problem look more real if any of the people in a position to have worked on faking it were agitated enough about it to try to provide leadership toward substantive and pointful measures

because, like, it could possibly be a meaningful claim about the upper echelon of the DNC machine. but usually "the Left" means a large chunk of the general populace, and let me tell you, i've met some of those, and the things they believe in are quite extensive
