I might have insight into this by virtue of welding bicycles (made from steel tubing like the straws) and sharpening (woodworking tools) might be able to penetrate flesh based just on thinness of the tube's walls probably would survive direct impact but bend if a glancing blow

I'm patiently waiting for the first Straw Kill in a film. Obviously expecting it to be JW4 at this point but the race to be first to market fighting with the concern of being seen as callous to the issue at hand should interesting.

I think we're going to see at least one AcidShake&Stab event and it will probably be from the sort of fringe community that becomes upset and reality existing only to prevent them from experiencing joy. If I had to guess that would be November 5th right after the movie and Brexit

let me know if you have any more questions about improvised weapons. I don't know much about actual effective violence but I am a layperson's materials science expert and I have made my own tools for stabbing wood

;) I like to think of my replies as looting villages. I can't think of metal straws without thinking of Necroscope. Though the scale is off. Ever read it?

I can't really say I came to it much differently. Though it was a housemate a few years later. And I won't say 'Go try it!'

something about this conversation makes me feel like i should recommend Aristoi to you based on the character who gives himself an emergency tracheotomy with a spoon

Straws and Metro police seizing rusty spoons seem like a logical enough connection.
