Maybe all along it wasn't anonymity that caused rotten behavior, but ephemerality. If there's no consequence for poofing an account and starting a new one, then every interaction is a single-run Prisoner's Dilemma, and we know what to do in that situation...

it's the fluff principle that sucks. too much content, constantly churning. we sort by # of interactions, so things that are easy to interact with float to the top. it's easier to interact with something dumb. design amplifies this effect
