i like the part where you're like "hm. i could do this thing, but i'd need fifty thousand dollars. hey, faceless institution, lend me fifty thousand dollars" and the faceless institution is like "k"

sometimes one wishes to do a small yet stupid thing like adopt a stray comic shop

i actually have a friend who bought a comic shop (they didn't end up taking out a loan for it tho) pretty based thing imho. in theory i can understand loans "we give u money now you give us moar later" but in practice money is easy and i don't see why they're necessary or useful.

hm, i do not seem to have found money to be as easy as you. i would not have called it easy, anyway what mechanisms do you employ such that it is easy

Replying to @chaosprime @listmouse and
comic shop thing is cool, but if some scumbag comedian is stealing thousands of dollars a month out of the register, so for all practical purposes directly out of your pocket, and he's wormed his way into the operation so thoroughly you have no resource but bailing, not as good

that sounds like it should have been stopped before he did anything really why would someone allow that to happen

probably what happens when the principal of a business is a Really Good Guy who describes almost everybody else as a Really Good Guy and never wanted to be running a business, he wanted to be running a community center

this is why all Nice Guys should run non-profits.
